What’s NFT Film?

NFT Film is a new type of film production that is funded through the use of a “Non-Fungible Token” called NFT, a hot topic these days.
In NFT film, NFT is not only a simple tool to buy and sell digital data, but also an "NFT with beneficiary rights" that allows you to receive a predetermined percentage of the profits from all transactions related to film content (distribution in theatres, digital distribution, rental, etc.). It is an asset that allows ordinary movie fans to bid on and participate in the production of a movie, while at the same time offering a new form of asset formation.

■schedule
Filming will start in July, 2021 and the film will be released in theatres in 2022.

■NFT Film "Terms of Rights“
The NFT will receive a variable Premier value (beneficiary right) from a minimum of 5% to a maximum of 30% of the profits from the release in theatres and digital distribution of the completed film "Godless Country", calculated based on the ratio of the winning bid amount in the auction to the film production funds. The NFT benefits include the film's scenario, production report, film credit (NFT number), and invitation to the first preview screening.

Story Concept of “Godless Country”

Even entertainment reflects the "times”.
This is because "audiences" are living in the times and want to know the core of the times and the solutions. And they want to enjoy it not as a speech or a thesis, but as entertainment that is intuitive and exciting, not preachy. Moreover, the "best directors and screenwriters" also desire to create entertainment that presents the core of the times and solutions, and the "best producers" know that making films that the audience wants will lead to business success. As a result, "the film becomes a prophecy reflecting the times. Like the movie "Joker" directed by Todd Phillips and starring Joaquin Phoenix.
That is why those who want to make films cannot help but think about what kind of time "this time" is.
What kind of a time is the present? To put it simply, it is a time when the gap between the rich and the poor is widening. Globally. It is very similar to the period after the emergence of capitalism, when the gap between the rich and the poor widened and a depression occurred. The difference is that the method of controlling the economy has developed, and we now have a situation where there is no depression. However, "no depression" is both a good and a bad thing. On the bad side, it means that there will be no reset, which means that the gap between the rich and the poor will continue to widen forever.
As the gap between the rich and the poor continues to widen, it is the "socially vulnerable" of the time who suffer the most. In the U.S., it is blacks, and recently it has been whites with less education, and sexual minorities.
But in today's Japan, it is women. And it is single mothers who are the most vulnerable. They cannot concentrate on their work and have to prioritize childcare. This worsens their working conditions. They are suffering from the very thing that is most precious to humanity, procreation. This is not a good thing, but it is the current situation in Japan. Our primary objective is to portray this in an entertaining way, not as a documentary.
And to see how the unreasonableness left unattended will end up (resolved) is the real pleasure and the second purpose of this film. Just as Japan during the Great Depression was a time of violence and terrorism, it is violence and terrorism that approaches us when we are growing unhappy. This film is also an experiment in imagination to see if violence-terrorism can be the end and the real solution to the greatest problem of poverty among women and children today. I am not going to suggest the right answer. However, if it can suggest some possibilities, if it can open our eyes to the current problems, to the poverty of single mothers and children, then the film has served its purpose.
