They are suffering from the very thing that is most precious to humanity, procreation. This is not a good thing, but it is the current situation in Japan. Our primary objective is to portray this in an entertaining way, not as a documentary.
And to see how the unreasonableness left unattended will end up (resolved) is the real pleasure and the second purpose of this film. Just as Japan during the Great Depression was a time of violence and terrorism, it is violence and terrorism that approaches us when we are growing unhappy. This film is also an experiment in imagination to see if violence-terrorism can be the end and the real solution to the greatest problem of poverty among women and children today. I am not going to suggest the right answer. However, if it can suggest some possibilities, if it can open our eyes to the current problems, to the poverty of single mothers and children, then the film has served its purpose.
